well, i wrote my dear friend the following e-mail today. i would have NEVER thought to post something so personal (and SILLY), but she said that she wished my message were posted to my blog because she found it entertaining. :) so here goes...oh, and see the end for part of my dream last night.

So hello from your friend with poor etiquette. :)
How are you on this beautiful day? (could the weather PLEASE be like this every day?—have I ever told you that my family and I always call days like today “Australia days?” b/c, for a lot of the year, this is exACTly how it is there!!) :)

i’m so sorry it rained on you guys last weekend! the weather was really pretty pleasant in kingwood—it was actually COLD on Sunday! Such a weird thing for that time of year there. I had such a wonderful time with my mom and dad and sarah (and doug!)—and then rachel came on Saturday, and it really was okay. (you know how she can be sometimes…) anyway, doug and I went to Galveston on Thursday, and we had such a great time! I took him, as a surprise, to a
sea turtle conservatory/hatchery that I previously had never known existed! And it’s FREE to tour!! It’s the only place in the nation like it (that’s considered “federal”). It was really so neat, I just wish we could have touched the little (and HUGE!!) guys—but they would’ve probably chomped off a finger or arm, respectively! :) then we went and ate at Fuddruckers. (NOT free—but so good! and I know, funny that we didn’t go somewhere local or seafoody, but we just wanted good ole fuddy’s.) :) then we went and walked along the beach forEVER so doug could look for seashells. (SO CUTE about him—I love it.) :)

I cannot believe you just wrote me while I am writing you!!! :)

(OH, THE VACUUMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!) :) :) :)

Doug will turn 26 on Wednesday, the 6th. :)
You are so very sweet to ask, sweet yennereenighney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
(kind of like a yippee oh kay ay?) :)
I hope the poor little guy gets well soon—he stayed home really sick today. :(
Have you and J and lori and others managed to avoid the illnesses that so many have had lately?
I’m truly grateful that I have.

Well…..I guess I should get to work and let YOU get back to work, too!! :)
But I just always love to go on and on and on…you’re so wonderful.

TWO THINGS:
Did you know sarah leaves for Norway in the morning?! :)
And that my dear Poppa started a NEW (“real!”) job today??!?!?!?!?! :) yes! thank You, Lord!! Full-time, with benefits, etc. Thank you EVER SO MUCH for your prayers…please pray that he’ll catch on quickly (it’s new stuff for him, even though it’s an engineering job), if you will?

I love and miss you!
I have a Christmas (!!!) present from sarah to give to you next time I see you!! :)
Love from rg babooskins. (have you ever heard rachel say that? booskins or babooskins? That’s cute, honey.) :)

yes, i usually do use that many smiley guys in my messages. i know--good grief.

okay, so here's my dream: i was IN american idol, but instead of ryan seacrest or whoever being "in charge" of the show, scott duvall was. no, i'm not kidding. (for those who don't know who he is, he's a great man who is currently dean of the school of christian studies here at obu and one of the pastors of the church we've just started attending.) i was SO LATE to the set for the show that was going on (while i was scrambling to get ready and get "there," wherever that was)...i made it at 9:45 p.m. (the show was over at 10:00) anyway, i don't think it would have mattered if i would've missed my chance to perform or not, because i did HORRIBLY. i got there and didn't know what i was supposed to sing or anything, and scott goes, "didn't you tell me you're going acoustic tonight?" and i said, "WHAT?!" and he said, "yeah, you said you were going to play [guitar] and sing 'more to this life.'" needless to say, it was a disaster. one more funny, weird thing about the dream was that one of the judges was jody evans (not simon, randy, and/or paula). the judges for the night were the "three shannons," so apparently jody's secret name was really, in fact, shannon. WHATEVER. so weird. (and in case you didn't click his name, jody is a finalist on the country-fied version of american idol, nashville star. so vote for him. he's this crazy-but very talented-guy i know from college.)
